The Story of Sadar

Sadar was our first-ever horse. He was given to us by a friend at the age of 26. Sadar was an Arabian gelding with a super sweet disposition. He couldn't have been more patient with us as we learned about all this "horsey stuff"! He taught all of us something....things like....how to clean a stall & horse troughs, go out in the freezing cold & buck hay, brush, pick out hooves, put a rope halter on, load and unload in a trailer, tie up, tack up & ride. Sadly, our time together was short-lived as Sadar became sick with a brain tumor. In June of 2010, after only 9 months together, we had to say good-bye to our precious friend. Letting Sadar go was one of the hardest things our family has ever had to do, but our sweet memories of him remain....
Emma & Claire meeting Sadar for the first time in Oct. 2009
Claire testing out Sadar in the arena
Emma riding Sadar at home in the round-pen
Emma helping Shane find his balance
John, our friend & farrier
Our vet, Doc Richardson, giving Sadar his wormer
Claire's final ride on Sadar
One last time for Shane, too!
It was love-at-first-sight for this girl!
Emma rode Sadar several days a week and competed with him in Gymkhana Rodeo!
